The natural colour is what the sheep are born with and created by mother nature- (no dyes or chemicals used) These special black and coloured sheep are bred and raised on our own family farm near Feilding, Manawatu, New Zealand where they are farmed to the highest ethical standard and we lavish them with kindness and lots of lush green grass. Animal health, happiness and welfare is a high priority for us.
Instead of the pelts getting wasted and ending up in landfill, I honour each animal and retain the pelts myself. I then get them commission tanned for me at Classic Sheepskin in Napier, New Zealand, where they use an environmentally friendly formula to produce high quality extra soft white leather and chemical free naturally hygienic wool.
I trim and finish each sheepskin myself, finishing with a thorough grooming and vacuuming to produce sleek silky soft wool, taking the time to keep the uniqueness of each beautiful skin, many of which are very rare colour genes, or unique interesting patterns to retain.
